Central Art 2012 with Mrs Compton
'For this art session we studied art works
by NZ artists Diana Adams and Claudia Pond Eyley, and English artist Dave Griffin. We discussed how these artists all created landscapes in their most simple form,
with a single piece of fauna in the foreground. We discussed how they they used an off-centred focal point and how they showed a distance perspective.
We then sketched and painted our own works based on this style.
Our challenge was to create believable and varied landscape colours
by mixing, tinting, shading and blending the paints.
We finished our work off with the same black outlines that our study artists used
and this gave a clean, crisp finish to the end products.’
